Getting Emotional (about Mental Health)

Emotions create thoughts, thoughts create physical sensations, physical sensations create emotions, emotions create thoughts.

And round and round we go.

The thought-feeling loop.

According to neuroscientist, Jill Bolte Taylor, an emotion naturally peaks and dissipates after about a minute and a half - if your mind doesn’t get entangled with it.

Emotions are good and healthy, they are DATA.
But if you’re not bringing intelligence to your emotions, this thought-feeling loop creates a mood. And mood impacts everything - your behaviour, interactions, decisions, health.

Emotional intelligence is essential to good mental health.
