Tension is the potential for growth

“The greater the tension, the greater is the potential. Great energy springs from a correspondingly great tension between opposites.'“- Carl Jung

At the heart of vertical development is how we make meaning of, harness and hold this great energy that comes from the tension between opposites.  This pull of inner or outer tension in a work context might look like:

1. Being promoted to a bigger, more complex role and discovering that the way of doing things that brought you success before is no longer working

2. Feeling the frustration of trying to bring projects or problems to resolution when there is no obvious or easy answer

3. Noticing that the things that once made you feel accomplished and rewarded are no longer satisfying or motivating

4. You're able to consider multiple perspectives but struggle to land on one solid view that you can communicate clearly

5. The feeling that your fundamental values are changing and you no longer feel aligned with what you're doing or how you're doing it

6. You feel like it's hard to properly articulate or for people to understand your vision

If you’ve experienced any of these inner or outer tensions, I invite you to explore developmental coaching. This supports and challenges you to understand what is happening from a growth and developmental perspective, and supports you in how to approach these experiences with intentional action that harnesses your very unique development journey and your highest possible potential.
